【春日・雲隱 – 王勁之 個展 | KASUGA・Clouds Shrouded – Chin Chih WANG Solo Exhibition】

Artist Chin Chih WANG is about to hold his solo exhibition KASUGA．Clouds Shrouded in Neptune Gallery, inviting the audience to step into his artistic world and experience the hidden beauty in everyday life through his unique interpretations of life, nature, and self. The exhibition will be held from February 8, 2025 (SAT) to March 16, 2025 (SUN.), with the opening ceremony scheduled for February 9, 2025 (SUN) at 3:00 PM. The artist will attend the opening, and we warmly invite you to join us.

For Chin Chih WANG, creating art is a process of dialogue with himself. He recalls the first time he picked up a brush, feeling the naivety and impulse that drove him. This inner drive has become the core of his continued creative journey. He likens his creative process to exploring an endless blue ocean, where the pursuit of the unknown continuously pushes him to try new things, ultimately leading him to discover a creative style that resonates with his inner self.

Chin Chih WANG has a deep connection to nature, with a particular focus on the subtle relationship between humans and the natural world. In his exhibition, flowers and natural scenes are recurring themes in his work. He finds beauty in the everyday, incorporating these silent elements into his creations. His vivid imagination and keen observation allow him to draw endless creative inspiration from nature, whether gazing at a full moon or studying a flower he has never seen before—these moments become emotional nourishment for his artwork.

Over the past two years, Chin Chih WANG’s travels around the world have sparked a profound interest in mineral pigments. He believes that these pigments carry a primal energy that reminds him of the ancient practice of using crushed stones to create art. This energy deepens his understanding of the connection between humanity and nature. The magnificent landscapes of nature make him feel small, and these feelings are transformed into beautiful moments within his paintings.

KASUGA．Clouds Shrouded is not just a visual feast but a spiritual journey. Through these works, Chin Chih WANG hopes to convey the fleeting beauty of life through the changing seasons, allowing the audience to feel the beauty and power of nature and life.

Artist’s Statement:

Regarding my creative process, it feels like a conversation with myself, a reflection of my life. I recall the first time I picked up a brush, how innocent and inexperienced I was. What drives me is not any specific reason, but simply an impulse that comes from deep within.

Art creation is like an endless, blue ocean where I continuously explore, searching for my own path. I keep trying, experimenting, and seeking the style that truly resonates with me. I am particularly drawn to the relationship between nature and humans, which is why flowers appear so frequently in my work. Flowers are silent, yet they quietly adorn our surroundings. I love documenting the ordinary moments of life—every flower, every tree is a reason for me to pause. People often say I’m a typical Aquarius—imaginative and prone to observing things from unusual angles. I might gaze at the shining full moon, lost in thought, or examine a flower I’ve never seen before. These moments, I believe, provide nourishment for my creativity.

Over the past two years, traveling around the world has given me a wealth of inspiration. I’ve become captivated by the power of mineral pigments, which seem to possess an irresistible pull. It reminds me of the ancient energy, when early humans crushed stones and used them to paint patterns. That primal force still seems to flow through snow-capped mountains, across the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. In the endless horizon, I feel the smallness of my existence. What I can record are only these beautiful moments. I hope to convey to the viewer the fleeting beauty of life in the changing seasons, sharing this small yet profound beauty with everyone.
