生於日本神奈川橫濱，畢業於女子美術大學日本畫專業。下重ななみ的創作立基於當代女性的生活經驗，描繪兼具細膩與堅韌的女性形象。她透過傳統日本畫技法，將經典美人畫語彙轉化為對現代女性身份、感知與社會脈絡的細緻回應。作品關注人物的姿態、表情與細微神情，捕捉安靜中的力與情感深度。

下重ななみ以日常物件、短暫時刻與個人記憶等作為她創作的出發點，最終呈現出既情感豐富，又重新建構當代女性觀看方式的日本畫創作；並透過礦物顏料的層疊與精緻筆觸，創造出充滿細節的寧靜畫面，邀請觀者細細感受作品所蘊含的視覺美感與個人敘事。

Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, Nanami Shimoshige graduated from the Nihonga (Japanese Painting) program at Joshibi University of Art and Design. Her practice is rooted in the lived experiences of contemporary women, portraying female figures that embody both delicacy and resilience. Through the traditional techniques of Nihonga, she reinterprets the visual language of classical bijinga (paintings of beautiful women), offering a nuanced reflection on modern female identity, perception, and social context. Her works pay close attention to posture, facial expression, and subtle gestures, revealing quiet strength and emotional depth.

Drawing inspiration from everyday objects, fleeting moments, and personal memories, Shimoshige creates paintings that are emotionally resonant while reimagining contemporary perspectives on femininity. Through the layered application of mineral pigments and refined brushwork, she constructs serene compositions rich in detail, inviting viewers to experience both their visual elegance and intimate narratives.
